Overpriced for What You Get, Less Classy Than Pictured
If possible, don't miss these details from the listing for the product:1) Requires assembly2) Has a base WITHOUT pre-drilled holes for you to screw into.3) Does not come with a bulb.If it were a $10 lamp or close to that, I'd probably be okay with the shoddy instructions (ex "To keep balance, we suggest you install the wrought iron frame on the any border of the wood base."- WHAT??). I would also overlook the fact that the "frame" assembly is loose, misaligned and generally cheap-looking. There's also Chinese (maybe Japansese?) lettering engraved in the joints of the lamp. Great steam punk stuff looks old but sturdy. This looks kind of like it was assembled from spare parts at a Good Will shop.My biggest complaint is the lack of pre-drilled holes in the base. If I wanted to build my own lamp, I would have done it. The lack of predrilled holes means that the final assembly is actually construction- not assembly. Instead of inserting Screw A into Hole B- I've got to try to line up the lamp to the center of the block and then screw the screws into the wood, careful to maintain the position of this wobbly lamp frame while also trying to drive the screws in straight up and down. I just wanted to plop a lamp down on my desk, plug it in, and screw in a light bulb. Now, I have to decide whether to waste my time either constructing a lamp or packing the parts back up and figuring out how to return them. Neither is really worth it, but at $25 rather than the $10 or even $13.95 price point, I'll write a review to voice my displeasure.

Good steampunk/retro table lamp
I picked this table lamp to match a similar retro steampunk style floor lamp I previously purchased...similar aesthetic and looks great with the old-timey Edison bulbs, and I already had a metal lamp shade to complete the set. Note the metal shade/cover in the photo is not included with this item.Might be a tad overpriced for what it is, especially considering the base/stand is just a rough piece of stained wood, and you have to drill/screw the holes yourself to attach the lamp, but it works and looks good. Also wish the cord was a little bit longer. All in all though it was affordable and meets my expectations so 5 stars.

Finishing touches are lacking
The lamp looks great put together. Unfortunately, it is missing finishing touches that would get it to 5 stars. First, the wood does not come with pre-drilled holes yet there is a warning that the unit needs to be counterbalanced properly otherwise it will fall over. Additionally, the wood is soft so it's easy to start the screws, yet it also allows the screws to easily strip the holes so you have to be very careful not to tighten too much. Lastly, the wood came with splits and cracks. The dark stain helps it be less noticable yet it made it a bit challenging to attach the lamp without further splitting the block. However, it does looks good put together.

Beautiful but not really square
The media could not be loaded. Awesome looking lamps, especially with filament bulbs. BUT!There are no pilot holes to screw the lamp together. It's not difficult but you have to drive the screws into a block of wood. The real problem though is the pipes aren't threaded in such a way that when tight the parts point in the right direction. So to point down you have to loosen the threads to such a degree that the join is no longer firm at all. In fact it's downright loose. So loose the bulb doesn't hang straight. It's not a huge deal but I like items with electric cords inside to fit together properly. They do look great though. And they're cheap.

Okay lamp
Overall the lamp is fine. I found it odd that I was asked to rate brightness as that depends on the bulb. I put an edison to add to the antique look. It was easy enough to put together, I used a drill. The wood is super soft, stained with no laquer finish. Its not as tall as I would like and not "nice". I bought it for my bedroom, but will not use them there, feel they are more utilitarian than decorative as I had hoped. Overall an okay lamp.

Loved it at first but it stopped working
I loved the look of this lamp for the price but 6 mos in it stopped working. I thought it was the bulb, switched it. Still didn’t work. Changed outlets, nothing. Finally tried taking it apart to see if the switch mechanism or wires had come loose but they were not. Faulty wiring or a short somewhere is all I can think of at this point. Thought about buying another bc at $20 it’s a great price, but then I remembered what a pain it was to put together and decided against it.

Bright without a shade
The lamp looks nice and minimalistic. As others noted, it does need to be assembled and the wood block is not pre-drilled, so be prepared for that. Depending on the bulb you get, it can be a little hard on the eyes since the lamp doesn't have any kind of shade. I intended to use it next to the couch but it was too harsh (even with a 40-watt, smoky bulb). I'm keeping it because it's unique and looks nice, but it will be mainly decorative rather than a functional lamp.

Awesome set of lights for my room, nice steampunk style too!
I got this set for my room because the current lamps I have look weird without a lamp shade (I take off the lamp shade so it can be brighter) So I was happy to have found a set of lamps that are meant to be used without a lamp shade. They have a nice style to them too. I run one with the bulb facing up and another with the bulb facing down, it's just a matter of preference which way you like it better.
