As others have stated: Screws in handles loose and/or missing. My DIY project started with fixing the tool. Small zip ties worked before going to hardware store. Great to have both metric and standard measures.

I use this for marking boundaries of garden areas/rowdy of vegetables, etc. determining how close to the house I want to construct or plant something, and many other uses. It is long enough to be very useful on a big pice of property, but still relatively small and lightweight. The only con (not gonna take off a star for it) is the point at the bottom kinda/sorta allows you to stick the reel in the ground as you pull tape away. In reality, it isn't long enough and often tips over. Other than that, I find no flaws and am glad I got it.

Ordered a bunch of these for my classroom and out of six of them five of the units had to be reassembled because the bolts and screws came undone.

it really has the METRIC units - cm and meters - on one side (not like most other products) and inches / feet on the other side. We bought this just for the metric units; it's great value and lightweight and fiberglass tape.

I use this all the time to set up archery targets at both metric and yard distances. It is easy to reel and unreel, has a place to stake the beginning of the tape in the ground, and it never gets tangled.
