All you need to do is spray daily with a mister to keep the compost moist, and the mushrooms will get bigger. Once picked, more will follow, and each kit has enough for several weeks worth of cropping. Mushrooms will continue to grow if left between 14 and 20 degrees - ideal for your kitchen or utility room. In daylight or darkness but not direct sunlight.

Exceeded my expectations.
Wasn't expecting much, since I tend to have brown thumbs. However, I bought two, got them home on Monday, put them in a small west facing window, pulled their plastic socks all the way up, and gave them a misting from a water bottle whenever I passed by - all per the clear instructions. They went nuts! By Sat I was forced into a big mushroom omelette because otherwise I worried it would go to waste - I had a huge omelette but only used half the crop, so I guess another omelette is in my near future. What else can you do with an excess of mushrooms?I'm interested in trying my hand at mushroom cultivation from scratch, so today I started by making a "shotgun fruiting chamber", which I've now put these two guys inside. Basically a (very) simply prepared plastic container to maintain humidity - Google has details. We'll see how they like the place.

Lots of Mushrooms!
I bought this as a present for my mum (she's an avid gardener) and she thought it was great! The first crop produced a lot of large mushrooms quite quickly, and as time went on, the crops became smaller and eventually stopped all together a few months later. Although the amount of mushrooms did decrease, i think this is reasonable given that it is tub, and there are only going to be so many mushrooms you're going to get!I would definitely buy again, possibly fr myself this time!

Not happy.
Review update:A bit pricey and arrived without its lid, which leads me to believe that could get contaminated in transit.Added to that I got three measly mushrooms from it and now it looks like it’s going to die. I am seriously disappointed at that price I could have bought enough chestnuts to choke a donkey.- substrate seems good and arrived in a timely manner.- didn’t come with a misting bottle at that price it would have been a nice touch.- it is definitely alive, it already arrived fruiting.- growth is already beautiful to watch hence but has since all died for some strange reason.- I suggest creating a mini terrarium out of the plastic bag with paper clips. This is unnecessary but it just protects the fruit from dehydration and potential mould attack.I would like a full refund.

Tasty and prolific
Wow! I have previously bought cheaper versions which have done little or nothing. We are on our 4th full crop with this box and if caught early enough they look just like the picture. They grow really quickly though and if you leave them an extra 2 days they suddenly turn into massive flat cap mushrooms instead of button mushrooms. We like both. You get pin prick mushrooms within days of receiving the box and i was shocked at how soon we were eating mushroom omelets, and the taste is amazing. better than you can buy in the shops.

Buy for fun or freshness, not for cost savings.
First crop, things looked great - lots of decent-sized mushrooms, very tasty, went down nicely with steak, chips and fried with garlic!Second crop, not so good... four or five worth the trouble of cooking. Still, tasted nice.Third crop, looks like we'll get one mushroom and a couple of buttons.All in all, it was a fun experiment and worth trying if you fancy it. You certainly can't get fresher than this, but you're paying for the experience - you could buy approximately 4Kg of mushrooms from a supermarket for the same price.

Magnificent Mushrooms
This mushroom kit is giving me so much fun! They are almost growing before my eyes!Have just had a big one for my breakfast & can honestly say this was the most tasty flavoursome mushroom I have ever eaten!! Truly tasty!Can't recommend the kit, supplier & delivery service highly enough. Deserves 10 stars! Enjoy! Xx

Dad loved the thought but not the gift
Dad said he didn't mind what I got him for his birthday. Hello free rein! When he got this grow your own mushroom kit he was amused and confused. I later learned he doesnt like mushrooms. Which In my opinion only added to the comedy factor.

Super-fresh mushrooms made easy
I bought this for a friend who was delighted with the rapid growth of mushrooms and some excellent crops. There are instructions, but they are hidden away between the box and the inner bag. In the right conditions they grow like... mushrooms! If you like mushrooms, they are better when very fresh - and that's something you can guarantee with a kit like this. Probably not as cheap as buying mushrooms from the supermarket, but definitely tastier.
