It takes two boxes of cake mix and a long time to bake.
The media could not be loaded. Really good quality. I had to do some trial and error to figure how much cake mix it took. Be sure to make a circular collar out of foil for the pan to rest on (used a cookie sheet as a base) or the pan will tilt and roll around. I could not find the information anywhere on how much to use. Using one 1 box was a fail. Our intended planet of Neptune would have been a flying saucer. It took two boxes for one mold. I used a baking nail in the middle to help with baking (read about that in my research). But it took 90-100 minutes to bake in the 350 oven. I used flour nonstick spray for baking and the cakes came out easily. It takes a LONG time to cool. The refrigerator or freezer will help. Each half was very heavy. I decided to cut the first half into two layers, but it became a mess of crumbs. So the bottom half ended up with two layers and I left the top in tact. You will have to use a good knife to cut off the excess to make the flat side level before taking it out of the pan if possible. I cut a thin slice off the bottom so it would be level on the cake plate, aided with a nice blob of icing to keep it in place. Now as far as taste - the inside is really moist and the outside is dryer. I don’t care much, my 5 year old grandson said the scraps tasted really good. He really is about the end result. I used two bags of powdered sugar for the icing and had some left over. I uses a lot to hide all the seams and flaws. It’s a bit tipsy, but thankfully my very smart grandson is no Sheldon so he does not care it is not a perfect sphere.

Perfect size!
I’m not a baker! But it turned out for someone who has zero experience! And no I did not do a test run lol. I just went for it! Great quality. Quick baking time!

Tractor cake pan
I loved this cake pan. It made a beautiful cake. I was very impressed with the size as it made a regular full size cake. The pan seemed of very well made and the cake came out perfectly. It cleaned up very easily and baking time was same as other cake pans. The pan is lightweight but great quality. There was no leakage and it was very easy to use. I would recommend and buy this pan again.

INCREDIBLE cake tin and easy to use
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this for my son’s fifth birthday and it truly was the star of the show! My son was blown away! I was really nervous to use it bc I’m a very amateur baker but I found it so simple. In case you’re like me and am not sure how to go about this, I used store bought cake mixes and used one cake mix per side. I had to bake them until I could see they were done instead of following the box instructions as far as timeframe goes. I was shocked that a full cake mix fit on both sides (and side note, they definitely baked over the sides of the cake tin but I preferred that over not having enough cake mix in each side). I put a pan underneath the train sides in the oven to catch any overflow. Once they were cool I used a serrated knife and leveled them off so the inner part was flat and the bottom was level enough that each side could stand on its own. I made my own buttercream to make sure I could control how thick it was and highly recommend that! I got a red food gel to make the red color (as opposed to regular food coloring so it didn’t change the consistency of my frosting and didn’t taste like chemicals), silver food gel to make the front of the train and the wheels, and then m and ms for details! I hope this helped bc I was SO concerned it couldn’t turn out but was so blown away by how easy it was!

Hand wash required?
I’m wondering if this is truly a ‘hand wash’ item or else cannot be reused? I was in charge of making a ‘snitch’ smash cake for a Harry Potter themed birthday and the end result was a perfectly formed round cake. Decor is questionable but, oh well. Anyway the grandkids loved it so much they wanted to make them again. I had ignored the info that said ‘hand wash’ and just put them in the dishwasher. I prepared the pans exactly the same (shortening followed by flouring the pan). I used the same generous amount of shortening but the second time I made them was a disaster. They completely stuck in the pan and I had to scrape the baked cakes out. I plan to save the day and just crush up the cake with some frosting and make 4” cake pops instead but I’ll probably just throw the pans away bc I won’t risk another disastrous end result.
